hi Colin.
alot of people dont believe i caught a small bream on willis's. i did have a witness called Eddie who was fishing beside me and he hooked into a tench at nearly the same time i hit the bream.
Eddie would fish willis's quite often, you know it is him as he rides a push bike, if you want more proof ask this bloke or i will meet you at the lake and show you the pics.
believe me that there are bream in willis's
regards.......... tiddler

Hi Kipper .... there has been talk of a community group being set up to control Willis Lake with funding being given on the agreement that cross community work would be carried out with young people. To help with the running of this there may be a small charge for a daily ticket but as yet the group are still in the negotiation stages by consulting the local community and other interested parties although there has been very little information deceminated out to anglers using the lake. I think it will be a wait and see how it pans out for ther group but at the minute I think people are still free to fish it. John from Jack Smiths in Lisburn may know or have up to date information if you can call in with him to confirm or not

It is still free to fish but it will be Membership only once they legally take over. Been some good clear up work happeninig with a few swims being opened up with better access.

Just had a wander round Willis today on my way through from Lisburn to the office as I'd heard and read about all the work that has been done to clean the place up and clear a lot of the pegs. I must say it looks stunning and the lads trying to take control of the place have really gone to town, there are several new swims cut, alot of the tress and bushes behind the wall have been removed and the outlet drain has been cleaned and is flowing freely again .... so big well done to them for all the effort they have put in to the place :clap3: , it shows a lot of commitment from them. Now that the winter is coming the place will hopefully get a good rest from the pressures of fishing and everyone can look forward to a good summer there next year. :)

Hi guys. long time since I've been on this. I saw a few posters up round Willis about this community takeover and it would be great to get membership. How do you go about this?
