I have taken out a 6 year lease on a local pond in Brierley forest Huthwaite as a community project to try introduce the local youth into our great sport we have started a fishing club and will be giving free taster days for the kids and also the disabled in the area.

We have been given loads of help from the EA and AT.My ambition is to set up a fishing pond where people of all ages and abilities can get together and not only learn how to fish but also have classes on float/rig making how to prepare bait, fish care/recognition etc.

Now for my reason in sending this message I want to get as many top anglers involved in helping by giving maybe a days instruction and also asking for bait and tackle suppliers to sponsor pegs donate tackle or come and demonstrate their products any suppliers that sponsor a peg for £100 per year get a plaque or their logo fitted to the platform and map reference that they can use on Google earth so they can view it from space and also be mentioned in local papers forums and facebook if a match is won or placed from their peg.

Regards (Steve)

Nice to hear you have some prominent anglers as patrons. That should encourage a few. Good luck.

The project has come on leaps and bounds we won a grant from sport England to install the rest of the platforms and pay for the training of 4 class 1 and 2 class 2 coaches and after the success of the open day last year where over 40 kids had a go at our sport (all of them caught at least one fish) and had a great time we are holding the event again it will be a give it a go day all are welcome to come and join in it is a totally free event and some fantastic give aways for the kids and competitions for kids and adults of all abilities so come and give it a go there will be free lessons in Carp/pole/float and feeder fishing from top anglers including a team England international.

If any tackle/bait/clothing companies would like a free pitch on the day please email me
Also if any anglers out their would like to help out by giving demo's on rig tying/float making/bait preperation or anything else fishing related please get in toutch
