They stocked 500 last year and 500 the year before all in the one to two pound range, bred here in one of their stock ponds all English strain, the good thing is according to all that I have read they fight well above their weight. I wish they would hurry up and re designate the fishery as it's only down the road for me and would be handy when the rivers are in flood.

The guy I got the info from was Peter Lynch the lake manager (I have his phone number if you want it) he said the lakes converting is because it gets to weedy, they are looking at a site a couple of miles away on the Dromara rd. fishing2.gif

the lake does get weedy but never bad enough that its unfisable but wats the diference between trout are carp in it .the weed cutter was on the lake bout november time and its completley weed free at the minute plus a new few places have been made around the lake from the feed back from local anglers and general users of the lake they would rather the way it is at the minute a trout fishery but then again a lake like hillsbourgh would make the perfect carp fishery either way it goes its going to upset sumone as far as ive heard its staying a trout fishery for this season at least
