I arrived at the river at 8am to find my usual swim vacant but the river higher than it has been recentley with lots of colour. The part of the bank where i usually set up was underwater so i set up slightly further back but with my pod in the water.

The weather forcast wasnt looking great for today, lots of showers predicted but atleast there wasnt going to be much wind.

I didnt have many deadbaits with me so a trip to the tackle shop was needed. I now had a variety of baits which included, mackeral, herring, smelt, roach, sardines and lamprey.

On one rod i used a whole mackeral and on the other a section of lamprey and with one rod cast under the bridge and the other near the far margains i was away.

A near enough 2 hour wait until my first bite came which was at 10.30, on the lamprey rod near the margains.
Only a small one this time weighing in at 6lb 6ozs.

I had one more run at 1pm which turned out to be a cormarant, luckily it managed to avoid the trebles and let go of the bait.

I had no more action after that so i packed up at around 4 and went home.

Will post pictures later.
Thanks for reading, Chris.

Sounds a productive day Chris,
The fishing was good; it was the catching that was bad.
